Twitter Profile Widget

I really love to have conversation on Twitter. For the purpose of your business, you can make use of twitter to let your target market or customers know what's new about your business instead of RSS feed. I use both of them. (actually, I use RSS feed, Twitter, and facebook all.) You can also embed your live stream of Twitter into iWeb. This widget works great if you want people to notice Hot news or Recent topic...something like that. Through this widget, let people have conversation with you via your website.

Instruction

Twitter official website provides several different widgets which can be embedded to your website. Among them, this tutorial is about the basic plugin, "Profile Widget".

  • If you don't have your twitter account yet, please sign up, then create your account.
  • Once you have signed in Twitter, please click 'Settings' on the top right.
  • Click 'Widgets' on the left menu, and then push 'Create new' button.
  • Customize your widget's styles, and then push 'Create widget' button on the bottom. (You should set the height.)
  • Your embed code will be automatically generated. Please copy the code (Command + C / Ctrl + C).
  • Go back to iWeb.
  • Insert a HTML snippet. Then paste the code into HTML snippet box.
  • Click "Apply" button on the HTML snippet box.
  • In iWeb itself, the widget will not show up. It may look like below:
  • You must change its width & height of the HTML snippet box from the 'Metrics' tab of the inspector window.
  • Publish your site and try to check if the 'Twitter Profile Widget' works correctly from your web browser.
  • You are ready to show your recent tweets via this beautiful widget.

Important!
In iWeb itself, the Twitter Profile Widget will not show up. It should appear on your web browser.
